SHOP for Italian Ceramics and Majolica
FREE SHIPPING for all Italian Ceramic orders over $85 (more info)
The Italian Ceramics and Majolica that we offer are handmade & hand painted by individual artists and not reproduced in a factory setting by machines. Each piece is unique and one of a kind. Therefore on occasion, you may notice a slight color, indentation, design, glaze or size variation or perhaps a tiny smudge, a small dimple, a paint spot or a loose fitting lid. These variances & imperfections are are not considered manufacturing defects. They are evidence of an original, unique, one of a kind, handcrafted, handpainted piece of artwork created artisans.
You can place your ceramic Italian pottery or majolica in the dishwasher in a less intense low energy-saving cycle with a cool dry or air dry at the end. We recommend that you do not put these fine Italian ceramics in the microwave or oven. Crazing (which are minuscule lines) can occur if you repeatedly expose your Italian ceramic or piece of majolica to hot temperatures, such as boiling water or direct heat. To prevent crazing, put a metal spoon in your ceramic while pouring a hot liquid to deflect the heat. Crazing has no significant effects on the ceramics, it is mainly cosmetic.
100 % FOOD SAFE – All of our Italian ceramics that are intended to have contact with food (dinnerware, serving pieces, tabletop accessories, wall plates, all canisters and jars, pitchers, cups, etc…) have met FDA standards and have been tested and approved for safe use.
Please note that some retailers who also sell Italian ceramics or Italian majolica may say that it is okay to put them in the microwave, but we discourage it because over time crazing will occur.
